Awareness-raising letter for parents - Additional Learning Needs (ALN)

As you know, the Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Act and the ALN Code introduce a new ALN system. These changes will happen gradually over the next few years.

As part of raising awareness, we kindly ask you that you read the attached document which outlines the key messages about these changes (see links below).

At St Mary's we pride ourselves in offering an inclusive education for all children with their individual needs at the heart of everything that we do.

If you have any questions or just need a chat please get in touch so that we can arrange an appointment.

This week is 'Mental Health Week', a time for us to take care of ourselves and our children. This is a very difficult time for lots of people both adults and children and everyone will feel the strain at times. Make this week a week where you really concentrate on giving yourselves a little extra care as well as your children. You are all doing such an amazing job at supporting us and your children, we can only thank you from the bottom of our hearts and stand back in awe at how supportive you have been.

I have attached links to some suggested activities just to keep you do.

11/01/21:

We hope that you are all well and keeping safe. This is a stressful time for everyone and I know children will be feeling a little upset and confused regarding the situation. I have attached a file to some fun activities to help with your child's emotional wellbeing (see the tab below).

It goes without saying if you need any help please get in touch with the school and we will get back to you. We are all in this together and together we can support each other.
